RFID Systems
The purpose of an RFID Site Survey is to validate your environment and requirements.
This is scheduled with a Sale Engineer for the topics below
This is the heading
Discuss physical installation of RFID Readers, Antennas and Mounting Hardware.
This is the heading
Discussion on RFID tags, labels, and printers. Type of material, type of RF inlay, temperature, adhesives and general requirements.
This is the heading
The selection of software for integration to your legacy system or programmable logic controller (PLC).
Detailed Site Surveys Are Completed By Experienced Engineers And Are A Fee-Based Service
Work Performed:
- On-site visits to location(s)
- Identify, measure draw up floor plan for read points
- Determine the quantities of readers and antennas for read points
- Determine the mounting hardware that will be required for the antennas
- Check for interference at read points
- The engineer(s) will test the read points with a live system and RFID labels in order to validate read performance in the environment
- This ensures that the installed system will perform as expected
- This will identify any environmental interference that may be present at the location
- This will determine the size and power of the antennas required
- The engineer will identify and document the physical characteristics of the environment
- The engineer will validate that the proposed install locations adhere to the limitations of the RFID gear
- The engineer will gather photographs of the various locations for inclusion in the Survey Documentation
- The engineer will identify and document the recommended mounting locations for all readers and antennas
- The end deliverable of the activity is a detailed document that outlines how the RFID equipment should be physically installed and how the reader software should be configured for integration to other systems.
The Dataflo Experience

Phase 1
Discover Site Survey
Dataflo Sales Engineer will analyze your operational environment to begin developing a solution based on the discovery meeting which allows our team to understand how many data collections points there are going to be and general hardware requirements. During the systems requirements, our technical team will determine the software tools needed for hardware and integration to the legacy systems and or PLC. Once the discovery is complete a budget is compiled before moving into Phase II of the project.

Phase 2
Systems Integration
The budget is approved and an engineer is assigned to your project to begin the live test requirement with any anomalies documented. Once the site survey is complete, we move into the system requirement & design where our technical team will determine the hardware configuration and software tools required. The budget is tightened up before moving to Phase III.

Phase 3
Pilot Implementation
The budget is finalized, the problem has been assessed, a solution has been developed, and rigorously tested. We are ready for a partial implementation and vetting. This includes installing hardware, wiring, and software. Training your team to comfortably handle all the new tools they’ll be using on a regular basis. Dataflo will provide future follow up meetings to validate the performance of the solution.

Phase 4
Full Implementation
In Phase 4, we move to a full implementation. This includes installing all the hardware, wiring, software, and training your team to comfortably handle all the new tools they’ll be using on a regular basis. Dataflo provides future follow up meetings to validate the performance of the solution.
